SayHi Translate Turns Your iPhone into a Multi-Lingual Universal Translator

SayHi Translate Turns Your iPhone into a Multi-Lingual Universal TranslatorBreaking down the language barrier is tough when you aren't fluent and need to constantly look up words and phrases for basic communication. SayHi Translate takes the effort out of this by letting you speak in your native language and then repeating what you said in most any language you choose.

SayHi Translate isn't the first app to do this. Previously mentioned app Vocre does the same thing, and for free, but back when I tested it I found it a little cumbersome to use. It also didn't always do the best job of understanding my voice. I had better luck with SayHi Translate, and the interface is remarkably simple. You just push a button, speak, and push it again when you're done. The app connects to the internet, translates your text, and then speaks it back to you in the language you chose (of which there are many). The person you're talking to can also respond in the same fashion. Everything works great—and quickly—so long as you've got an internet connection. The only time SayHi Translate messed up was with the phrases I said in Spanish, but chances are that has to do with my poor pronunciation than the app itself.

Not everyone is going to want to drop $3 on a translation app when there's a free alternative, but I felt it was worth a mention because it worked much better for me and was a lot easier to use. While I'd ideally like to regain my Spanish-speaking abilities with this novel approach, it's nice knowing that there's an app in my pocket that can help me out when I'm not exactly sure what to say.
