  • Postable Is a Simple Way to Get Friend’s Addresses

In Webapps, Address Book, Contacts, Time Savers, Location, / 08 March 2012 / 0 comments

Postable Is a Simple Way to Get Friend's AddressesIt's increasingly rare that you ever need a friend's physical address anymore, but there are occasions where you need to send out a physical letter. If you don't feel like emailing, calling, or posting a Facebook update to track down addresses, Postable is a dead simple and secure address book where your friends can enter their own info.

After you set up your account you receive a link with your address book. Send that link out to your friends and they can add their information. Your friends can only add their information. They can't see other entries in your address book and the site is secured. Once you get everyone's address, you can export your address book to Apple Address Book, Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, Excel, and even print labels.

  • Pocket Doorbell Calls Your Friends with One Tap as You Arrive at Their House

Pocket Doorbell Calls Your Friends with One Tap as You Arrive at Their HouseiOS: When you roll up to your friend's house, you usually go searching through your contacts to call them. Pocket Doorbell saves you a step by determining your location and calling your nearest friend with the tap of a button.

Pocket Doorbell monitors your contact list for addresses, and when you open it up, it determines your location using your phone's GPS. If you're at a contact's home, it'll put their name on the screen, and you can just tap the doorbell button to call them. If their address isn't in your address book, it'll ask you to register that location with a name in your contacts the first time you call, after which it'll remember that location for future visits. From then on, all you need to do is tap the doorbell to let your friend know you've arrived!

Pocket Doorbell is a $0.99 download for the iPhone.

  • Matchbook Saves Physical Places You Want to Visit for Later

In Iphone Downloads, Location, Iphone, Ipad, Ipod Touch, Ios, Downloads, Bookmarks, Places, Search, Iphone Downloads, Downloads, / 06 January 2012 / 0 comments

Matchbook Saves Physical Places You Want to Visit for LateriOS: Like Instapaper but for physical locations, Matchbook saves locations you want to visit for another time. If you see a restaurant you like or a cool shop you want to remember, you can simply open Matchbook and bookmark it for later reference.

Matchbook's interface is very simple: you just tell Matchbook you're currently walking by the location or you type in the name of the place you want to save. It'll provide you with a list either way, you choose the option you want, and then save it as a bookmark with any relevant notes. Matchbook will then keep that list handy for you and categorize it by its general area. That way you can visit next time you're looking for something to do in that part of town, or make plans relevant to where you're headed. It's a pretty simple but certainly useful app, and you can pick it up in the iTunes App Store right now for free.
