Google's CEO, Larry Page, has announced that Google has officially acquired Motorola Mobility. The process started last August but the deal is now done. Google hasn't made a statement about what exactly they plan on doing with this acquisition, but he does introduce Motorola Mobility's new CEO, Google employee Dennis Woodside. Looking for a decent Android phone? Sure, we know the market will be completely different within a few months (or even weeks) but we wanted to know which Android devices you thought were the best right now, and the masses have spoken. Last week, we asked you to nominate the Android device you thought was the best on the market right now. Then we featured the top five Android phones, based on those nominations. Now we're back to highlight the overall winner.
The "Google Phone" itself, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, took the top spot with just over 39% of the vote. Behind it in second place with 23% of the vote is the Samsung Galaxy S Series, with many of you anticipating the announcement of the Galaxy S III as soon as this week. Hot on its heels in third place is the HTC One Series with 18% of the votes cast. In fourth place is the Samsung Galaxy Note, with 10% of the overall vote, and bringing up the rear is the venerable Droid by Motorola line of Android phones, with 9% of the votes cast.

Whether you just want to listen to music wirelessly or you want a comfortable headset to take and place phone calls when you're out and about or otherwise using your hands, a Bluetooth headset is a worthwhile purchase. Last week we asked you which Bluetooth headset you thought was the best for value, features, audio clarity, and call quality. Then we took a look at the five best Bluetooth headsets based on your nominations. Now we're back to highlight the overall winner.
Jawbone, with its flagship Era and Icon headsets, took the top spot with close to 46% of the votes cast. In second place with 26% was Plantronics, its Voyager Pro and HD lines making it a popular choice. The battle for third place was fierce, with Motorola edging out the competition 10.3% of the vote, and LG falling into fourth with 10.1% of the vote. Bringing up the rear in fifth place was Jabra, pulling in just under 8% of the overall vote.
Most of us are still waiting for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on our phones, nearly five months after the update was announced. Weblog Computerworld summarizes which manufacturers are following through on their promises, and which ones aren't.
Computerworld discussed this subject once before, back when Andorid 2.2 "Froyo" came out, but things have changed a little bit since then. Computerworld's current "report card" looks at tons of Android manufacturers and grades them on when they promised their Ice Cream Sandwich updates, and how well they're following through on those promises. Surprisingly, many tablet manufacturers like Acer, Archos, and Asus did a great job of updating quickly, while the handset manufacturers like HTC, Samsung, and Motorola are reneging on promises or aiming for updates in the latter half of the year (with Motorola being the worst and HTC being the best-but-still-not-good-enough winner).
