  • Do You Have Ice Cream Sandwich Yet?

In Reader Poll, Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, Ics, Updates, Android 4.0, Smartphones, / 24 May 2012 / 0 comments

Do You Have Ice Cream Sandwich Yet?Android 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich" was announced nearly seven months ago, but it still hasn't rolled out to most phones. HTC just published their most recent rollout plan, and it looks like the majority of their phones won't be getting it until the summer, if they get it at all. We're curious how many of you are running it on your phone already.

It's rolled out to a small number of phones, but it seems like the only people that have it are those that bought a recent phone, like the Samsung Galaxy S III, or those that flashed a custom ROM (which is still only available on some phones, depending on how hard it is to port). So, tell us:

  • Are You Still Using RSS?

In Reader Poll, Google Reader, RSS Readers, Rss, Social Networks, Android 4.0, Smartphones, / 17 April 2012 / 0 comments

Are You Still Using RSS?We've covered a lot of cool RSS tricks, readers, and apps over the years, but it seems like people have been shying away from getting their news through an RSS feed and have started relying more on social networks. With that, we're wondering: Do you still use RSS?

Of course, we have no definitive proof that RSS is on the decline other than through a few casual conversations, but it seems like people are getting their news in different ways. We want to hear from you:

  • Are You "Using" Google+?

In Reader Poll, Google+, Google, Social Networking, Google Plus, Android 4.0, Smartphones, / 12 April 2012 / 0 comments

Are You "Using" Google+?Yesterday, Google+ launched a significant redesign, and in that post, high-up Googler Vic Gundotra wrote that "More than 170 million people have upgraded to Google+, enjoying new ways to share in Search, Gmail, YouTube and lots of other places." Sounds like a lot of people are using G+, right? Well, not quite.

As CNET's Rafe Needleman points out, Google has an unusual way of counting someone as a G+ user: Essentially, if you've ever signed into G+ and continue to use Google products, whether or not you ever used G+ again, you're an "upgraded user". So as inflated as those G+ appear (and however disingenuous or just plain Orwellian Google's methods of discussing G+ users may seem), we're curious:

  • How Long Have You Been Working at Your Job?

In Reader Poll, Careers, Work, Social Networking, Google Plus, Android 4.0, Smartphones, / 06 April 2012 / 0 comments

How Long Have You Been Working at Your Job? Switching jobs several times in the course of a career has become the norm, which means the days of 30-year careers with one employer and the proverbial gold watches are extremely uncommon. With that in mind, we're curious: How long have you been working at your job?

Last night I watched Jiro Dreams of Sushi, a film that documents the career of 85 year-old, world-renowned sushi chef Jiro Ono (see the trailer above). It's a fascinating film all about the relentless pursuit of perfection (as an audience member, you're as often impressed and inspired by Ono as you are disturbed by his intense obsession). According to the film, Ono has been making sushi for over 70 years. That. Is. Bananas. So we want to hear from you:
